The Democrats would have you believe that ending racism is more historically important than ending sexism. This campaign has become a joke to the left. Apparantly putting a black male into office is more important than selecting the person who’s most qualified to lead this country.

The addition of Sarah Palin to the Republican ticket as the Vice Presidential candidate added an interesting element. This announcement was met with a firestorm of media attacks, including comments that a young woman with young children can’t possible have what it takes to lead. Sarah Palin has a record that speaks for itself. She’s got more experience than Barack Obama who’s only claim to fame seems to be managing his rock-star style campaign.

Not everyone shared my point of view. The phones were ringing off the hook. Tune in to hear what the callers had to say … Got an opinion? Share your comments here!

What does it take to lead this country? What qualities should our president posses? Senator John McCain survived five and a half years in captivity as a POW.

John McCain’s bones were broken but he never lost sight of what was important. He was tried by hard times. His character revealed. His courage, strength and wisdom come from real life experience. He understands what it means to be under fire. In difficult times we need a leader who can lead.

George Bush said, “John McCain’s life is a story of service above self. Forty years ago, in an enemy prison camp, Lieutenant Commander McCain was offered release ahead of others who had been held longer. His wounds were so severe that anyone would have understood if he had accepted. John refused. … When he was released, his arms had been broken, but not his honor.”

“Fellow citizens, if the Hanoi Hilton could not break John McCain’s resolve to do what is best for his country, you can be sure the angry left never will,” George W. Bush went on to say.

Tonight’s guest understands first hand what it means to survive as a hostage. He was captured by Palestinian terrorists while working as a flight engineer on a 747 that made routine flights between France and Athens. Though his imprisonment was shorter than Senator John McCain’s, Antoine shared a bit of insight into what it felt like to live as a tortured captive.

If you tuned in on July 5th, you heard Tom mention a poem about Independence day. Here’s the poem …

What does July Four … really mean to you?
I hope much more … than just a barbecue.

July four is, of course, Independence Day …
A day when we celebrate Liberty !!!
A day when we state, in a prayerful way,
“THANK GOD I LIVE IN THIS LAND OF THE FREE!”

And on July Four … we salute all our Vets …
They are, for sure … as good as it gets !!
From the Revolutionary War … to the one in Iraq.
No group has done more … to push evil back !!

Brave American Vets … answered the call …
And fought … for the “Red, White, and Blue.”
All veterans gave some … and Some Gave All …
Defending Freedoms for me … and for you !!
Freedom of Speech, Religion, and Assembly …
Freedom to Bear Arms, Vote, and Own Property …

Enjoy the July 4th fireworks’ colorful glow …
But remember:
THE VETS & FREEDOM ARE THE STARS OF THE SHOW !!

The California Commission on the Fair Administration of Justice, appointed by the State Legislature to propose criminal justice reforms, issued a report regarding our California death penalty system. Let me save you from reading the 117 pages and just let you know that it’s broken. Correction, a busted taillight would be considered broken, this car wreck of a legal system is “totaled”. It claims we spend too much on it to administer the death penalty. We do. It costs us more than $100,000,000 (yes, that’s $100 million) annually. How can that be? Since the reintroduction of the death penalty in 1978, we have only executed 13 inmates. There are currently 673 inmates on Death Row still waiting. What a shame. The national average for death row inmates is a 10 year wait, which is way too long. In California, it’s pushing beyond 17 years and that’s not saying much because we’ve only completed the job on 13 of them. At the end of the day, the conclusion appears to be best summed up by saying that unless you are willing to expand the administration budget for the death penalty in California (i.e. spend more taxpayer money that we don’t have or raise taxes just for this), you might as well just get rid of the death penalty. What a sham! Politicians playing politics again. They can’t convince the people of California that the death penalty is wrong, so they will just slow it down to a grinding halt, waste our money, and then say see it doesn’t work. The result: they do what they want and we foot the bill. Don’t buy it folks. Let’s streamline the process, get rid of the endless appeals, quite worrying about their country club like conditions and work against public opinion.
